AeroNautiConsult Staff
Øystein Hobbelstad
The founder of AeroNautiConsult started his career at the age of 17 as assisting mechanic at a local airfield Maintenance Organisation. The combination of working with General Aviation Aircraft and exploring the joy of glider flying was the initial steps on the aviation ladder.
At the conclusion of Aircraft Mechanic studies in Oslo in 1980, an apprenticeship wih Braathens SAFE Technical Department in Stavanger was started. At the age of 24, the first ICAO II License was in hand -The Fokker F27 Friendship.
Over the 17 years of employment with Braathens SAFE he held various hands on and administrative positions as Licensed Mechanic, Inspector, Maintenance Support Engineer, Planning Engineer and Product Manager.
He then moved on to the rotorwing business with Helikopter Service as Head of Component / Asset Management before taking position as Business Manager for Engine Maintenance.
In April 2002, AeroNautiConsult was established, and the "Launch Customer" was Norwegian Air Shuttle in their process to start the Boeing 737 operations in September 2002.

Tom-Erik Nilsen
Tom-Erik is educated in the Royal Norwegian Air Force in the last half of the 1970's, extending his caring maintenance mind and hands to the Lockheed Martin F-5 Freedom Fighters of the 718 Squadron in Sola, Stavanger. In 1980 he went civil and was employed with Braathens SAFE Technical Department in Stavanger. He got his first ICAO II License in 1982 on the Boeing 737-200. Later a rather extensive range of Aircraft Types was added to his License.
He turned to Braathens SAFE's arch rival SAS in 1986, taking position as Line Technician in Stavanger Airport, Sola where he later was employed as Cheif Station Engineer. At one of the rationalisation processes in SAS he chose to leave the "sinking ship" and had positions with a Contractor and later with Norwegian Air Shuttle.
Tom-Erik has also been a representative for our Civil Aviation Authority in Bodø. He held a position as Airworthiness Inspector with a portfolio of small and medium sized operators as his "customers". Commuting from Stavanger to Bodø was far from a desired way of living, and in 2006 he moved to a entirely different business: Subsea equipment Maintenance Management. He was then in a position to use all his valuable experience in the management of preventive maintenance for this type of equipment.
Aviation is addictive to the same extent as alcohol or drugs; You see individuals leaving aviation for oil & gas and related businesses. Give them a year or two and you will find them back in Aviation again. This is valid also for Tom-Erik. AeroNautiConsult is happy to be the one that brought back "the lost son", so that the avitaion community can enjoy his knowledgeable and effecient services.
